Persona QA
Persona QA Testing Tool
See your project through a different set of eyes.
- Find blind spots
- Test more scenarios
- Build with confidence
Step 1 of 3
Why persona testing?
It's easy to test a build the way you expect someone to use it. Persona testing gives you a reason to approach the same experience differently.
Instead of only asking "Does this work?", you can also ask:
- Does this still work for someone who is new to the topic?
- What happens when someone is in a hurry?
- What if their situation doesn't fit the path I designed?
A good test persona gives you a specific point of view to adopt while testing. That can help uncover unclear instructions, missing paths, assumptions, confusing interactions, trouble recovering from mistakes, and situations you may not have thought to try.
You won't anticipate everything a real user might do. Persona testing helps you explore the possibilities you might otherwise miss.
Step 2 of 3
Why AI can help
AI can help you explore more testing perspectives without creating every persona from scratch. Describe your project, and this tool generates six personas with different starting points, habits, and potential challenges.
The panel includes differences in:
- Experience with the task
- Familiarity with the subject
- Confidence
- Time and attention
- Working habits
- Device or situational constraints
- Unusual but realistic circumstances
AI generates possibilities to test, not evidence about your users.
A generated persona can help expose a real problem in the design, but the persona itself doesn't prove that real users have that problem. Use it alongside real-user research and testing, not instead of it.
Step 3 of 3
Try it: Sample Mode
Explore a sample project: a short learning module for new managers. Choose an archetype, adjust Challenge and Journey, and see how the preview changes. Nothing you do here affects your own project or panel.

The walkthrough brief for the person above, with their current settings. In your own project, Export gives you one for each persona, or a prompt for an AI assistant.
Key terms (optional)
- Persona
- A fictional user you temporarily adopt while testing. Each persona has a stable goal, starting point, working style and perspective.
- Test panel
- The group of personas you're currently testing with.
- Archetype
- The reason a persona is included. A newcomer tests assumptions about prior knowledge; a time-constrained user tests what happens when attention is limited.
- Typical
- No added challenge. The persona behaves according to their normal working style.
- Rushed
- The same persona is under time pressure and cuts corners compared with how they normally behave.
- Inconsistent
- The persona contradicts something they said, selected, answered or did earlier in the same test pass. Example: they say they want email updates, then later select "Do not contact me."
- Edge case
- A realistic circumstance the experience may not have been designed to handle. For example, a volunteer form assumes everyone has a fixed weekly schedule, but this persona's availability changes every week. It's a legitimate situation to test, not strange behavior invented to break the design.
- Key moment
- An important checkpoint worth testing, such as choosing a plan, submitting a form, receiving feedback or recovering from an error.
- Journey
- The route the persona takes through those key moments.
Build a test panel for your project
Describe what you're testing. Build a panel of test personas. Use them to stress-test your experience before real users do.
Your project
Build your panel Choose an archetype, set their challenge and journey, then add them. One persona is enough for a quick test.
Start with your project
Describe what you're testing to create personas for your panel.

Your panel is empty. Add a persona to start.

Drag a marker, or use the arrow keys.
Review and export
Start with your project
Describe what you're testing to create personas for your panel.
Add at least one persona to export a test.
Your panel changed after you edited this export.
Or copy one persona on their own
Test personas can help you find problems early. They don't replace testing or research with real people.
